Scurry Dog - Level 1 (Winter24/25)

Gundog Games for active pets

Course Summary

Scurry Dog is a super fun new activity for pet dogs and their humans, inspired by the world of gundogs.

There are five exciting games inside Scurry Dog: Retrieve, Nose Quest, Scramble Grid, Sniffit Trail and Everyday Dog. These games reflect the challenges that gundogs and their handlers face in the shooting field, minus the birds, the guns and the tweed.

(Find out more about the 5 games here: www.scurrydog.com)

Each game has its own skills and benefits, from nose games to retrieving, from speed to patience and focus.

What's inside this course:

You and your dog will develop skills for Level 1 games, so that you can enter trails, complete Level 1 and earn your Level 1 badge. In this course, we will focus on the Retrieve, Scramble Grid and Everyday Dog.

Prerequisites:

All breeds are welcome to take part and play the gundog games of Scurry Dog.

For the Level 1 course, your dog needs to be able to focus on you and learn in a space shared with other teams. Your dog needs enjoy working for food and toys. As a handler, you need to know how to use a food lure and how to use a clicker. You will need to know the basic calming games and engagement games that we cover in the Foundation Course.

If you don't think you and your dog can do the above yet, check out the foundations course or drop me an email to info@synchrodog.co.uk so we can arrange 1-1 support for you before the next enrollment.

Course Curriculum

Aleksandra Borawska

Hi, I'm Aleks!

I help people with crazy, lovable, naughty young spaniels (and other working breed pets) to build a happy harmonious and fun-filled life together. I support them in learning the skills they need, so that they can go wherever they want and to have amazing adventures together. I help them understand their adolescent spaniel, discover what's going on underneath the surface and create an amazing connection.

I am an accredited dog training instructor with IMDT (Institute of Modern Dog Trainers), a Mantrailing UK instructor and a UK College of Scent Dogs instructor. I'm currently working towards a gundog training instructor certification with Gundog Trainers Academy.

I am also a canine behaviour practitioner, with over 10 years of intensive practical experience, hundreds of successful behaviour modification programmes and an extensive continued professional development in dog behaviour and training.

I live in the Welsh mountains with my 6 dogs, including a working cocker, springer spaniel, a labrador retriever, a collie mix and a two staffordshire bull terriers. We train and compete in several dog sports and training projects, including scent detection, competition obedience, working gundog tests and GRC/Canine Athletics. In winter, I'm part of a beating team on three local shoots.
